When airflow is off in a commercial space, you feel it - hot spots, stuffy rooms, equipment that runs constantly and still can't keep up. Most people assume the unit itself is the problem. A lot of the time, it's actually the ductwork. Specifically, how air is getting in and out of the system.
That's exactly what we were dealing with here. This 12.5-ton commercial unit had a return and supply plenum that wasn't moving air the way it needed to. The system was working hard, but the airflow just wasn't there. So we rebuilt both the return and supply plenums to get things right.
A plenum upgrade like this isn't glamorous work, but it matters a lot. The plenum is essentially the hub where air enters and exits the system. If it's undersized, leaking, or just poorly set up, the whole system suffers. The unit strains, energy costs climb, and the space never gets comfortable. Getting the plenum right means the equipment can actually do its job.
This is the kind of work that falls under our commercial HVAC services - the stuff behind the walls and above the ceiling that most people never see but absolutely notice when it's not working. We also handle full duct makeovers when a system needs more than just a targeted fix. Big or small, if your commercial space isn't comfortable, the answer usually starts with the ductwork.
